Hi Hunter, thanks for all the advice on this blog! I am a junior professional, recent top school qualification, 3 yrs experience at rather average sell side shops, currently unemployed.

What's your take on how long should someone with my profile try to break into a top hedge fund analyst position before lowering sights on a lessor job?

many thanks

Hunter - thanks for the great blog! Currently I am a junior analyst at a hedge fund after completing my investment banking program. I am currently evaluating the benefits of going to business school versus trying to move laterally to another firm. Given the shrinking buyside pool and economic woes, I find it difficult to justify attending business school. However, I understand that it is not as easy to move between buyside firms unlike banking. If possible, I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
